Based in Barcelona, Josep-Maria brings a combination of private-public experience due to his international career in the corporate world and having held top governmental responsibilities. Josep-Maria started his career as a lawyer, then he moved to a chemical giant, working across the globe, including a 7-years expatriation in Belgium. Once back in Barcelona, he became a partner at Grant Thornton. Previously, he worked for the Government of Catalonia, as Director of Strategy and Business Competitiveness.

Most coaches of Mentally Fit come from a sports background but Josep-Maria embodies a complementary perspective. His sport was cycling but he survived to a tragic car accident at the age of 23. Since then, his skull is literally screwed to his backbone, so sports life ended for him as he used to know it. From then on, his focus in life has been a quest for excellence, high-performance and purpose.

Josep-Maria is today energising top performers throughout Spain. Thanks to his peculiar set of life-changing experiences, hardships of expatriation and practical cases from the corporate world and the public sector, he stimulates individuals, teams and organisations to unleash all their potential based on persistence, resilience and positive mindset applied to business world and human energy.

One of his challenges during his past corporate life was to break down the silos at work creating effective relationships between teams and throughout the organization after the merger of two large multinationals. That experience of cultural transformation inspired him to write the book “El Viaje. Los 4 ejes del liderazgo para llegar a la cumbre: Consciencia, Relaciones, Emociones y Acción”, describing personal experiences on transformational leadership.

One important thing you’ll learn from him having been in the verge of death for almost one year is that persistence, humility and purpose are key boosters to achieve high sustainable performance: ‘Every day is day one. Be kind with those you meet in your way up because they are the same you will meet in your way down”.

Combining his perspective about the fragility of the existence and his career as a top executive and public servant, he authentically motivates individuals, teams and organizations to perform at their highest potential.

With also original training as a musician, before he turned to corporate world, he plays electric guitar to recharge batteries.
